Beyond the Outskirts of a Fairytale Dream

There are many battles nature fights with time, but amidst all their scuffles, nature is undeniably triumphant in autumn. It is not often that autumn spares us a few days of sunshine, but when it does, its greatest witnesses must be us. This year it seems that October was too kind, as it granted us many memories of summer warmth. I would never have guessed it, but the Corvin Castle in Hunedoara must be the most enchanting story of a bright autumn’s day. Somehow hidden from all the loudness, this castle rises up in shelter from civilization. It may be a little far-fetched, but the astounding resemblance to a fairy tale castle, makes you feel a little bit like in a Disney movie. Although the name may not suggest it, the castle is not frightening, nor daunting. On the contrary, it is an architectural marvel on the outskirts of Transylvania. Its high refinement lures you into this dream of historical nobility and heart-warming pride…The sentiment that something so ancient still thrives in the middle of all that’s destined to become industrialized. The most beautiful thing about this relic is that for a meagre price, you get to visit it all. You get to take the grand tour, without anybody telling you not to touch.

So, see the Corvin Castle in Hunedoara, at least once in your life. Then go a little bit further and visit the lake in Cincis. Take a minute. Enjoy a warm meal. Then go on home, make yourself a cup of tea and think of the fairy tales you were part of when you were little.
