The Glass Hotel on the Lake

Do you remember the Jetstones? This is a little bit how I felt like when I walked into this glass hotel on the lake of Snagov. The futuristic design of a time defiant construction that we only saw in science fiction movies and highly imaginative cartoons when we were little. The scorching gleams of sun reflected into the glass walls by every stream of light, made it all seem like I was re-living my prom. Wide, spacious rooms ending up into the balcony’s glass walls trying to reach for the stars. It is too seldom that we get to treat ourselves with lavishly set up accommodations, gourmet starters and a little bit of fun. But, when we do allow ourselves the treat of the privileged, we enjoy every moment of it. We rummage the duck legs, we pillage the drinks, we stay a little bit longer before we get into bed. And just as if dancing were until that day banned, we dance our legs off in a tremor of the irresponsible children we once were. The fact is though, the young adults that we’ve become…I wonder…Are we as ready as our parents were…to take on the challenges of a minute world to call our own? The family, the children, the road to work, the road to school and the same road back home. Instead, why wouldn’t we try to see more of this world? To give up everything for one small breath of fresh air, in a far away place. Somewhere warm, or somewhere cold, but somewhere different…that’s for sure.

It is sure nice, sometimes, to take a breather from everyday life. To sit back and enjoy the final remnants of autumn just breezing all by. To watch on how the day swiftly turns into night, and a few hours of joy is all you have until you get to go back to all that you have to be to get by…
