I am not particularly a fan of cooking sweet stuff, but this pie is the easiest to crop up and it is the most delicious thing ever, once its done. I always like to enjoy any piece of pie with a hot cup of coffee and a good book, so why not have them ready before you get all started.
For the filling you will need: 200 g of melted butter, 230 g of sugar, 4 eggs, 250 g flour, a teaspoon vanilla sugar, 1 and 1/2 teaspoons of starch, 2 teaspoons baking powder, 150 g Greek yoghurt and a pinch of salt. Once you’ve mixed all of these ingredients up, you add the good stuff: 500 g sour cherries, that you’ve previously stirred up with 1 spoon of starch and 40 g of sugar. Bake the whole thing in the oven at 180 – 200 degrees Celsius, for about an hour or so, and you should be just about done.
This grandiose pie makes for an unbelievable dessert, but – as I said – you can also have it on lazy Sunday mornings with your usual cup of coffee, or tea, depending on what you enjoy most.
